21 MONTHS, THREE MINISTERS, MORE CHILD CARE CONFUSION

21 months and three ministers after launching a Productivity Commission review, the Liberals still can’t tell Australian families what is happening with their child care changes.

Reports today confirm the Government has gone back to the drawing board – leaving parents to face more uncertainty.

“After refusing to answer basic questions about their child care changes for months, the Liberals have today admitted they don’t have a clear plan at all,” Shadow Early Childhood Minister, Kate Ellis, said.

“Independent analysis shows the child care changes Scott Morrison announced in the Budget would leave one in four families over $1,800 a year worse off. Nothing the Government has said today looks set to change that.

“The Liberals promised more affordable and accessible child care, but so far all they have delivered is confusion.

“They’ve had 21 months and three ministers, but Australian families still don’t have any details.”
