LIBERALS ABANDON SOUTH AUSTRALIA

The 2017 Budget has confirmed the Turnbull Government’s utter contempt for every South Australian, with not a single new dollar for any of the state’s infrastructure projects.

In a budget that claims to offer $70 billion for roads, rail, ports and airports across the country, the Turnbull Government has not been able to find a single dollar for South Australia.

Not a single new project, not a single new road in South Australia will receive funding from the 2017 Budget. There’s nothing for Whyalla and nothing to help Holden workers or associated automotive workers find new jobs, even though no state has suffered more from this Government than South Australia.

The only response from the Liberals is to offer the state the chance to bid against other states for funds, with absolutely no guarantee, again, that South Australia will receive a single dollar.

It highlights, yet again, how useless our state’s Federal Liberal MPs are, and how not one of them is ever prepared to stand up for South Australia, and put the needs of their state, ahead of their Liberal mates in other states.

South Australians won’t forget Joe Hockey goading Holden to leave Australia, or the Liberals’ attempt to send the Submarine build overseas.

This Budget adds insult to that injury, hitting South Australians with higher taxes and cuts to schools, TAFE and universities, but offers them nothing in return.

As far as South Australians are concerned this is a Budget that is all pain, no gain.
