THE HON KATE ELLIS MP
MINISTER FOR YOUTH
MEDIA RELEASE

Ourspace competition winners announced
The Minister for Youth Kate Ellis today announced the winners of the National Youth Week Ourspace competition.
"Congratulations to Oliver Delvecchio from Goolwa in South Australia and Anna Krjatian from Parramatta in New South Wales," Ms Ellis said.
"Anna and Oliver's communities can now look forward to a central role in this year's National Youth Week with the prize of fantastic launch concerts in their towns."
The two concerts will be held simultaneously to mark the start of National Youth Week 2010. The events will also be webcast and broadcast on Video Hits. The winners will get backstage passes.
Ourspace invited young Australians to submit an audio, video or photographic entry about the contribution that young people are making to their community.
"Oliver's entry exhibited the enthusiasm and initiative of young people living on the Fleurieu Peninsula in organising local opportunities and events," Ms Ellis said.
"Anna's entry showed how young Parramatta people are making a change with youth-run dance groups and the Powershift climate change event.
"These entries show that there are great opportunities for young people to get involved and play a part in their local area - and that's what many are doing," she said.
"There are heaps of ways young people can get involved in National Youth Week.
"Young Australians can showcase their creative talents in music, writing, filmmaking, photography and graphic design through the National Talent Competition.
"There's also the Win Free Stuff Competition, that gives people aged 12 to 25 a chance to win prizes by answering simple questions online."
National Youth Week 2010 will be held from 10 - 18 April and is a joint Australian, state, territory and local government initiative.
The winning entries and other information about National Youth Week can be found at www.youthweek.com.
