Expanding preventative health strategies, introducing a sustainability challenge and paid parental leave were some of the key issues young people from the 2020 Youth Summit want the nation's leaders to address at the Australian 2020 Summit next weekend.
The Federal Minister for Youth and Youth Summit co-chair, Kate Ellis thanked the 100 Youth Summit participants for their passion, quality ideas and commitment to make Australia a better place.
"The 2020 Youth Summit has shown that young Australians have a bold vision for the future of our country and some new ideas about how we can make it a reality," Ms Ellis said.
"The youth delegates are determined to make sure Australia in 2020 is a smarter, fairer, greener and healthier place. I have no doubt that their passion, ideas and enthusiasm will help achieve this."
Ms Ellis and co-chair Hugh Evans also announced the 11 delegates from this weekend's Youth 2020 Summit who had been chosen to attend the Australia 2020 Summit on 19-20 April.
Youth delegates participated in a secret ballot to select delegates to go on next weekend.
