Kate Ellis, Minister for Sport and Youth, today congratulated Adelaide United FC on their advancement to the final of the Asian Champions League.
The ACL final berth for Adelaide United FC is an historic moment for the team, our city and for football in Australia.
Their brilliance is inspiring to the next generation of football players and will go a long way in promoting the game in Australia.
I congratulate the players, coaches and support team for their extraordinary efforts and I wish them the best of luck for the finals.
The Australian Government is proud to support the development of football in Australia. We were proud to provide the FFA $32 million in our first budget for the promotion of the game in Australia and the involvement of our national teams in the Asian League.
