The search is on for high achieving young South Australians to enter the 2008/2009 Channel 9 Young Achiever Awards.
Federal member for Adelaide, Kate Ellis MP, is keen to see local young people who are achieving excellence in their chosen field, nominate for the Awards.
"We have so many very talented and gifted people in out community who deserve to be acknowledged for their efforts. I encourage all community members to consider nominating someone," Ms Ellis said.
The aims and object objectives of the Channel 9 Young Achiever Awards are to encourage, reward and most importantly promote the positive achievements of young South Australians in the 14 to 27 age group.
Nominations are being sought until 5 December in the following categories:
- The Coffee Club Arts Award
- Worldwide Online Printing Sports Award
- Adelaide Airport Limited Community Service Award
- Nippy's Environment Award
- Department of Trade and Economic Development Career Achievement Award
- The University of Adelaide Science and Technology Award
- AGL Regional Initiative Award
- RAA Driving Force Leadership Award
- Office For Youth Outstanding Indigenous Achiever Award
The Awards will culminate at the Awards Gala Presentation Dinner on Saturday 21st March at the Hilton Adelaide.
Each category winner will receive $1,000 from prize patron HomeStart Finance and a magnificent trophy. One of the nine category winners will also be chosen as the Premier's/Channel 9 Young Achiever of the Year and will receive an additional $1,000 a trophy and a fabulous holiday for two provided by Virgin Blue and Hilton Hotels (Conditions Apply).
