Malcolm Turnbull’s year in office has been marked by dithering and inaction on TAFE, vocational education and apprenticeships.
Despite press release after press release about cracking down on dodgy private providers, his government has done next to nothing.
The last year has been marked by more student rip-offs, a failure to protect TAFE and squandering of taxpayers money by refusing to follow Labor’s lead on cleaning up VET FEE HELP.

Despite promising new economic leadership, Malcolm Turnbull has failed to invest in TAFE and apprenticeships to secure the pipeline of skills Australia’s economy needs to grow.
He has sat back and done nothing while apprenticeship numbers continue to plummet, down 10 per cent under his watch.
Malcolm Turnbull might claim that things are “so far, so good”, but any objective assessment of his action on TAFE and vocational education leads to only one conclusion: so far, not so good at all.
